Jessie Cage was born in New Orleans to two teenage parents in 1959 and raised by his great grandmother until her passing when he was nine. Struggling with instability, he turned to the street and ended up in many juvenile institutions and prison as an adult.

While incarcerated, Jessie transform his life, becoming a mentor and legal advisor to those around him that needed advice. After his release from federal prison, he committed to helping others navigate reentry and the justice system.

He now works in the legal department at VOTE and host a podcast focused on reentry and second chances. Jessie uses his story to advocate for justice reform and inspire change in the lives of those impacted by the system.
